### The Three Tracks

Pick one when you apply. Build for it all day.

**🛂 Immigration — Papers & Process**

Status, documents, deadlines, and the systems that decide who belongs. Think intake triage for legal aid clinics, plain-language explainers for immigration forms, interpreter tooling, case-status tracking, know-your-rights assistants.

**🏥 Healthcare — Care Without Barriers**

Language, coverage, and access for patients the system was never built for. Think interpretation at the point of care, insurance navigation, discharge instructions people can actually read, community health worker tooling, prescription and benefits literacy.

**💵 Finance — Banking the Unbanked**

Credit, remittances, and building wealth without a financial history. Think remittance transparency, credit-building for thin-file borrowers, small business bookkeeping for cash operations, benefits and tax navigation, fraud protection for first-generation account holders.

### You don't need to be an engineer

This room is deliberately mixed.

Immigration attorneys, nurses, community health workers, social workers and financial counselors build alongside engineers — because the teams that win these things are the ones with someone who knows the problem from the inside.

**A note on selection:** This edition is built for and centered on the Latino community in New York. Applications from Latino and Hispanic builders are prioritized. Allies are welcome to apply and will be considered as space allows.

Requirements

Every team must submit the following on Devpost by **4:45 PM ET on Saturday, October 10**.

### What to submit

**1. Project title and description**

A short written description of what you built, which track it addresses, and the problem it solves. Two to four paragraphs.

**2. Public code repository**

A link to a public GitHub, GitLab, or equivalent repository containing the code you wrote during the event.

**3. Demo video — 2 minutes maximum**

Upload to YouTube or Vimeo with embedding enabled, and include the link. Show the working product. Screen recordings are fine. Polish is not required; a working demo is.

**4. Track selection**

Tell us which of the three tracks your project addresses: Immigration, Healthcare, or Finance.

**5. Team members**

List everyone on the team on your Devpost submission.

### What we're looking for

Working software, not slides. If it runs, demo it.

Projects are judged on:

- **Problem fit** — Does this address a real problem people in our communities face?

- **Execution** — Does it work? How much did you actually build in eight hours?

- **Insight** — Does the team understand the problem beyond the surface?

- **Potential** — Could this survive past Saturday?

### Requirements

- Teams of one to four people.

- All code must be written during the event. Prior research, planning, and design are fine. Prior code is not.

- Open-source libraries, APIs, and AI tools are all allowed and encouraged.

- You keep everything you build. No IP claims from organizers or sponsors.

Judging Criteria

Problem Fit
Does this address a real problem our communities face? Teams that clearly understand who they're building for, and why the current alternatives fail those people, score highest here. Depth of insight matters more than novelty.
Execution
Does it work? How much did the team actually build in 6 hours? We're judging working software, not slides or mockups. A rough demo that runs beats a polished concept that doesn't.
Impact Potential
Could this survive past Saturday? Would a legal aid clinic, a community health center, or a family actually use it? Teams that can name a real first user, and explain how it reaches them, score well.
Craft
Is the solution thoughtful in how it's built and presented? This covers technical choices, usability for the people it's meant to serve, and clarity of the demo. Building for someone who speaks Spanish.
